A look back on SXSW 2006

Blog

My first SXSW, I spent 10 days in Austin, Texas armed with a video camera, a digital SLR and my mac! In my hand a platinum and photographer pass giving me access to almost all events and venues in town for the film, interactive and music festival.

Raincity Studios and Bryght hosted a party with our friends at Blue Flavor and Newsvines.

Bryght had a booth in the Convention Centre, where I spent the best part of my afternoon chatting with geeks and rockstars alike. Helping Colin and kk to promote Backstage and our services.

Ponzi stopped by one afternoon and did a podcasts with me and one with KK, you can listen to mine on the Chris Pirillo Show.

I took a total of 2217 pictures out of which I loaded more than 400 on my flickr account. I saw over 25 bands during the SXSW music fest including Mogway, Belle and Sebastian, The Peel, Same Day Service and every bands at Japan Nite. They rocked my world.

I spent the better part of my late nights at the Red Bull House, thanks to Mark Brown of Buzznet.

I danced my butt off and met loads of cool peeps, musicians and Ben Brown of Consumating.com

SXSW turned out to be one of the best networking event I’ve attended in the past few years. In a week I met most all of my Internet heroes. The high-energy conversations, parties, bands, presentations and activities surrounding the event left me in a daze.

I’m looking forward to next year, where we hope to bring more team members and have a larger presence. You can expect to see us in the trade show and you can look forward to another great party.
