My first SXSW, I spent 10 days in Austin, Texas armed with a video camera, a digital SLR and my mac! In my hand a platinum and photographer pass giving me access to almost all events and venues in town for the film, interactive and music festival.

Raincity Studios and Bryght hosted a party with our friends at Blue Flavor and Newsvines.

Bryght had a booth in the Convention Centre, where I spent the best part of my afternoon chatting with geeks and rockstars alike. Helping Colin and kk to promote Backstage and our services.

SXSW is fast approaching and I’m so busy at Bryght putting the finishing touches on our web 2.0 service for bands, musicians and record labels that I barely have time to plan out my concert schedule! Fortunately there are so many great bands playing it would be hard not to catch at least some amazing music.

Of particular note, I hope to catch at least partial sets of such Canadian luminaries as Metric and the New Pornographers (yeah Vancouver!). I’m also looking forward to (attempting) to see Clap Your Hands Say Yeah and Internet buzz band of the year, Artic Monkeys.

Also, I got to be there to support fellow Vancouverites You say party! We say Die! and Po’Girl.
