The very cool Robert Ouimet and I are presenting on EverythingCasting tomorrow at Vidfest at 2:40p.m. at the Dockside pub (it's a reprise and expansion of our VFS DIY podcasting presentation earlier in the year).

What is EverythingCasting? It's a term I stole from my friend Eric Rice (with his permission of course) to encompass promoting yourself, your company, your passion, etc. by putting stuff online in the global online two way web (what some people call 'Web 2.0') very cheaply (e.g. photo blogging with flickr, free blog at Wordpress.com, free podcasting with odeo and free videoblogging with YouTube.com or blip.tv all tied together with Feedburner to make a free online media 'EverythingCasting' presence. At the very least, you should be listening to the two way web whether or not you actively participate!

Why do this? Self promotion and self expression (and to know when people are praising and panning you!). Want to take it to the next level and pay for better service using your own domain name for example? Show up and we'll show you how! Questions and feedback encouraged. I (see me pontificate about the downtown East Side, Gastown, blah blah blah :-) !) and a whole bunch of Bryght guys and other folks were featured in Eric Rice's Vancouver Videoblog and Podcast Roadshow video. Thanks's Eric. You inspired me to finally start videoblogging real soon now :-) !

What can I say. Eric Rice (blog, podcast, video) rocks! His enthusiasm for videoblogging and podcasting is infectious. Eric took a bunch of videos (waiting for Eric to render them and remix them in iMovie but that we have to wait since his Powerbook had a beer mishap at Gnomedex), photos and some audio and had a great time. And we got a great tutorial on how to use Garageband for podcasts (4.5 MB MP3 file, 19 minutes 30 seconds).

Here's the plan:

1. Meet at Bryght, Suite 203, 525 Seymour Street at 5p.m.
2. At 5:30ish, we'll blogwalk/videblog/podcast our way over to Phnom Penh (244 East Georgia Street) from Bryght. Hopefully the weather will cooperate!
3. At 7p.m., we'll have a Vietnamese/Cambodian dinner at Phnom Penh (Reservations for 2 tables of 10 under the name of Eric "White" :-) Rice !).
4. After dinner, we'll go somewhere to be determined to continue the conversation.

Come one, come all. You are welcome to join us blogger or not, podcaster or not, videblogger or not. Feel free to bring your camera, video equipment, microphone or just yourself and talk about blogging, podcasting, videoblogging, or whatever you want! Eric can give us lots of tips on how to improve your audio, video and blogging

And it's totally flexible, you are free to come whenever you are free e.g. if you can't make our meetup at Bryght at 5p.m., no problem, if you can't make the Phnom Penh dinner at 7p.m., no problem. Just call Roland at 604 729 7924 and let us know when you will join us.
