"Alternative" (whatever that means!) rockers Delorentos from Ireland rocked the SXSW stage with their melodic power pop on March 14th. I enjoyed it, it made me somehow think of U2 in their old days.

Billy Bragg has been an inspiration for many including myself since the 1980s so I was well nighed chuffed to be able to see him briefly on March 12 at SXSW 08. Political and full of vigour as always, he remains a musical giant in my books!

Sometimes all you need is some back to the roots, funky blues. Black Joe Lewis and the Honey Bears filled that craving for me on March 11 at SXSW08 Music. Hat tip to Erik for the recommendation!

SXSW 08, the Music Festival, is overflowing with music. Over 80 venues, many many bands (as well as great conversations at Raincity's Booth number 211 and 213). I don't keep up with the music but some of the younger folks tipped me to Saul Williams whose brief acoustic set on March 11 was thought provoking and political.
