Podcast on the North Shore: Andre Charland & Nitobi
Captain Ajax Workin' and Livin' on a Mountain
This week I headed over to the North Shore, where you rarely get out of second gear on a clear straight-away - something that normally drives us heavy-footed drivers crazy, and very much did so on this particular morning. I was late finding my destination, after having been misdirected by dudes at a car garage, a taxi cab driver and a postman. All people I figured were reliable sources for directions. (My cell phone was not an option as it's slightly out of commission at this present moment in time.) I should also state that there are TWO 2030 Marine Drive locations, so I was not completely out of the loop on the address. This is the right one.
The anxiety of knowing there's someone on the other end, waiting, was killing me. Alas, once I found the Nitobi office, pretty much at the base of the North Shore mountains, and saw the mountain view from Andre Charland's desk, all calm returned. It also helped that Dre is a super cool and understanding guy - my tardiness was no biggy.
We headed down to The Savary Island Pie Company to grab the yummiest sandwiches in all of Vancouver, then took a little stroll and sat 5 feet away from the Pacific Ocean and talked about all kinds of fun stuff: Nitobi, Grid 3.2, Ajax, doglotion and skiing.
