The web is a powerful tool - you know that. When a top-quality, professional design is used for political and social purposes, the result can be profound as education and information are distributed with seeming ease. The Take Back the Power project is designed to engage voter interest and create a cohesive community voice in advance of the 2009 BC Provincial election. The subject matter concerns public vs. private ownership of utilities and no doubt that the issue of control over BC's hydro electric resources is of great importance. However, communicating complicated information about a fairly "non-glamorous" subject can be a daunting challenge. Raincity Studios stepped up to the challenge and designed a site which efficiently breaks down the facts in an aesthetically-pleasing and highly-usable manner. RCS continued to assist the client - COPE 378, a union - with a full slate of services including support, hosting, training, and a community development initiative to help raise public interest and awareness and take back the power.
