Open source and your non profit

Blog
created on 周二, 2006-05-30 09:17

I'm giving a presentation on open source and your non-profit as part of the NetSquared "Remote" Conference. It will likely pull some elements from a presentation I gave called Open Source and Your Business. I'll be talking about the culture/philosophy behind open source, how it aligns with the some of the needs of non profits, but also the business and technical aspects of open source. The big tension is while non profits understand and are used to the sharing/cooperative nature of open source, there is often a lack of expertise in the technology component.

The remote section is using a tool called Gabbly, which embeds a chat window directly into the page. It even has an RSS feed which "archives" the flow of chat conversations. Very cool.

Please bring your own thoughts, comments, and questions and join me for the live chat tomorrow, May 31st, at 1pm PST on the remote page.
