The atmosphere was a bit geekier than usual yesterday evening at the Abbey Road in Shanghai. As our fellas in Vancouver are getting ready for the upcoming SXSW and Drupalcon, we held in China an event at least as important; beer, finger food and a Wifi connection, we were sure that the ones that answered Raincity Studios' invitation to our geek meetup would be satisfied. Having been living in China for about 3 years now, I have been more than deprived of such kind of event. I'd love to see Chinese and 外国人 (understand foreigners) to start socializing around technology, and a couple of pints for sure, and I'm excited to see that the team I just joined is moving into that direction.

We sure will invest ourselves in bigger conferences and technical speeches, but those informal meet-ups are a great way to mix with those who share our interest in technology. Everybody is welcome; PHP, Python, .Net, Java, technical and not so technical profiles, locals and foreigners, we just want to chat with those we embarked with in the fastest growing Internet nation.
