Our Strutta Pals Strut Their Stuff

The gang down the block at Strutta share many an interest with us at Raincity Studios - they enjoy good times, coding tough and working hard while enjoying a beverage and a laugh at the end of the day. We eagerly collaborate, share code trinkets, but (me at least) stay away from their manic Rock Band forays.
You see, the Strutta folk are hyper-competitive by nature and this desire to excel at every tasks - no matter how mundane - drives their newly launched video competition site. No doubt there are plenty of video hosting sites out there, complete with (often inane) comments and kinda community building features, but Strutta is like a specialized video contest party where all the videos feature someone intentionally showing their mad skillz - whatever that skill may be.
A quick look on the newly launched site (complete with elegant white-space-laden design) includes challenges put forth from making the most delicious sushi to opening beer bottles with a chainsaw to best drunken stumble down the streets of Austin TX (any city will do however).
Not only do the Strutta clan host these uber-competitions between the mysterious stalwarts of miscellania but they brew up their own video hi-jinks with vigor and commitment both for user support info, Web 2.0 style marketing outreach and just to show-off.
Behold the evidence they crafted (in reply perhaps to the "office lip dub" made by the Vimeo crew to Harvey Danger's Flagpole Sitta') of the staff strolling through Gastown up to their digs, lip syncing all the way to Violent Femmes alt-pop classic Blister in the Sun (Author note: I've seen both Harvey Danger and Violent Femmes live which means i am getting on in years).
Anyhow, the Strutta clan are a fetching crew to be sure and one worthy of great success - cheers to Danny, Maura, Jordan, Lyal, Steven, Alexa, Vincent, Mike, Sarah and Mark (Mark, let's have a drink and talk world literature) and best wishes on your site launch.
With warm fuzzies from your relatively non-competitive and usually quite nice neighbours at 1 Alexander, Suite 420!

One day we rock together.
Thank you for the brilliant words, Dave.
I'm looking forward to the day when you'll either sing a Ramones duet with me in Rockband, or when you upload your first Strutta video. Maybe best spoken word poetry? I'm prepared to put the time in to convince you.
At the very least, we'll have to get you a guest spot in the next lip dub video. Oh yeah, and we <3 Vimeo, so ours was indeed a tribute to their original.
Thanks Dave
Thanks for the great writeup Dave :) And Hey! You should come by and battle me at guitarhero, or at least enjoy and relaxing fun time with us rockbanders!
Big thanks
Thanks Dave. I do feel warm & fuzzy after reading your kind and beautifully written post. You may not be competitive but you are very talented. From blog posts to presentations, you surely know how to make art with your words.
We are a pretty competitive crew. Unlike the rest of the team, I am not a Rockband stah yet but I am up for the challenge.
And many thanks to the RC group for sharing the code and beautifying our blog. :)
Drinking
Hey Dave, thanks for the post. Definitely come by the office anytime and we can have a mostly non-competitive couple rounds of world literature drinking games!
Cheers backatcha
Indeed, i'll find some time to lounge with a beverage and chat about Tolstoy while the kids play with their "musical" instruments. Big hands i know you're the one!
