Wise Drupalists Roll with Locals

Certainly I go on and on about the power of Drupal being "the community" - indeed the Raincity Studios crew collaborated with great success at Drupalcon Barcelona - but not everyone is able to wing across the Atlantic to code and think together over tapas and wine {sigh}.

But it's all good because the Druapl community is local too. Groups.Drupal.org is the home to an international rolodex of Drupalists - from padawon to jedi - who are seeking to meet up, hang out and think and code with well, ... you.

So, if you don't already have an account, sign-up (for yet another social networking site) at Drupal Groups and dialing your browser to Vancouver League of Drupallers who host events monthly (usual 3rd or 4th Thursday) on well ... Drupal topics.

Vancouver Ringleader Dale McGladdery facilitates the gigs and points out (amongst other details), "As always, there will be a Question and Answer session for questions on anything Drupal and a chance to tell the group about any cool stuff you've been working on."

Boris Mann Drupalist

This month's topic is "Painless Contests/Surveys and Barcelona Review" which means Mike Cantelon will talk about taking the pain out of publishing contests and multi-page surveys with the Multiforms module, and Boris Mann throws down some highlights from Drupalcon Barcelona (Mr. Mann is also on the comfy seat in this week's Raincity Radio).

Dale also wisely mentions, "For those who don't need to leave right away there's typically a more social discussion at a local pub afterwards."

Indeed, now that Raincity is comfortably sequestered in 1 Alexander with our amigos at Bryght, i can attest to the variety of fine pubs in the immediate vicinity.

New Drupalists will find an inviting atmosphere and savvier folks will enjoy riffing big ideas with peers and growing Vancouver as North America's unofficial Drupal HQ.
