Inspired by Kevin Marks' videos at BloggerCon IV (e.g. Lisa Williams' emotional life session), I took a whole bunch of videos using my 6 year old Canon Elura with the tape taken out (so the camera wouldn't auto shut off) connected to my Powerbook using a Firewire cable using MPEG 4 320x200 15fps with QuickTime Broadcaster recording to my hard disk. Would I do it again? Absolutely! The only thing that was really bad was the audio quality.

Here's what I would do next time:

• Bring my own tripod (I had to borrow one!)
• Fix the audio somehow (only record mono? turn down the gain? attach an external microphone (but then how would I get the whole room? I will definitely experiment beforehand to figure out works best.)
• Monitor every recording. I had a few useless videos because I forgot to record the correct audio channel!
