Gnomedex 2006 Wrap
created on Mon, 2006-07-03 08:56
Raincity has been heading south to Gnomedex for several years, but this was the rookie year for MC.
A few words that come to mind:
Inspiring. Information overload. Intelligence. Empowering. New friends. Connection. Gogogo-non-stop. Ideas. Geeks Should Not Name Things. Collaboration. Geekery. Creative. Exhausted :)
I wanted each session to go deeper, and by that I think I mean longer.
Being in one room (aside from the Cove folks!), bouncing from guest speaker to the next works well. Each time a session ended, for the most part, I wanted it to continue, sometimes not having had my fix with thoughts and ideas beginning to formulate. Still, it meant for some spirited, fast-paced, sometimes intense sessions. All great stuff.
Chris, Ponzi: thankyouthankyouthankyou. My First Gnomedex: success. You really have this whole conferencing thing down to a fine science. Thank-you for all of your efforts. I look forward to the next.
Nice touch on the Canadian cupcakes, as we all stood, glorious and free, and belted out our pride with a Gnomedex version of "Oh Canada".
Check out Chris' model that is close to being perfected at Gnomedex. Comment, contact Chris, keep the open communicato, ideas, inspiration and innovation flowing.
Have a look-see at gnomedex pics from the hundreds of gnomer-paparazzi.
I heard a rumour of a call to take Gnomedex on the road.... Vancouver awaits...
